Marking its 120th year, Brunswick School’s first day — Tuesday, Sept. 6 — began with Opening Ceremonies in Dann Gymnasium on its Edwards Campus on King Street. The whole-school gathering, filled with longtime First Day tradition, was the first such ceremony to be held indoors and without masks since September 2019. Head of School Thomas W. Philip addressed the crowd: “We need to appreciate that we’re all part of something greater than ourselves — and attempt to fulfill our lives by contributing to the greater good,” he said. “And, of course, we need to strive to live lives marked by Courage, Honor, and Truth.”
